The morning started like any other in the quirky little town of Cedar Grove until the tea shop Leaf & Lore unveiled its new Witch’s Brew blend. It was rumored to be brewed with enchanted tea leaves from the Sacred Fairies and it promised clarity of mind and a touch of mischief.
Across the street at InferGelatoTM, owner Matteo sneered, stirring a pot of his latest hell churned espresso that still smelled faintly of brimstone and burnt hazelnut. The ancient coffee cult, The Order of the Eternal Steam, and the Leaf & Lore Tea Coven had always coexisted in a wary truce by sipping their respective potions quietly.
That peace was shattered when an elderly customer in Leaf & Lore Tea Shop took a sip of their tea and spontaneously burst into harmless glittery flames, only to be extinguished moments later by a barista tossing a precise dash of cold cream.
The Order of the Eternal Steam saw this as a challenge and word began to spread that The Magical Brew War had begun.
By noon, clandestine meetings, enchantment enhanced brew-offs, and accidental summoning of tiny elemental spirits were the new normal.
Matteo, wielding a steaming cup like a warrior’s sword, vowed, “No tea leaf shall out-brew my espresso shot!”
Meanwhile, Jo, the barista from Bean Me Up, turned reluctant mediator, sighed and wished for a simple cappuccino without consequences.
The stage was set.
The cups were full.
The magic was brewing.
