Jo had thought mornings at Harmony Café were unpredictable but nothing prepared her for the breakfast curse.
It started innocently enough with Matteo experimenting with a new Sunrise Espresso Pancake recipe. It was infused with a dash of enchanted cinnamon and a sprinkle of ghost pepper.
By the time the first pancakes hit the griddle, customers started acting weird. That was weirder than normal by Cedar Grove standards.
Before they knew it, patrons were wide awake. Like really awake, with their eyes darting like caffeinated squirrels. One customer temporarily developed wings. The local postman declared himself the Breakfast King and demanded tribute. Sev recited poetry at lightning speed. Clorvex chased his own tail. Well, he chased it faster than usual, and Mira’s tea magically brewed itself into mugs of pure energy.
Jo scrambled to mop syrup off the ceiling while Matteo tried to reverse the curse.
The Queen of the Hollow Moon dropped in, bemused by the chaos and sipping what she called the most energetic chamomile ever.
In the end, the curse wore off just before sunset, leaving behind a town wired on breakfast magic and one very tired mop.
